Well, I have thoroughly enjoyed making food for Mayah. The added benefit to this all is getting over my fears of learning to pick out good veggies and fruits and the grocery store, and also to learn to cook them! I am not a great cook, but I am enjoying learning about all of these things so that I can provide good food for Mayah. I have also compared some prices and realized that it is cheaper to make food than to buy it. The most expensive thing so far is avocados, but that has been the only expensive thing so far.
This weekend, I made sweet potatoes and carrots for sweet Mayah. I cooked them, pureed them with my Magic Bullet, then put them in my silicone mini-cupcake tray, froze them, then when frozen, moved them to a ziploc to keep them in the freezer.
Here’s some pics of the carrots:

And the sweet potatoes, already done:

The cubes turn out to be approximately one tablespoon each, which keeps it easy to know how much to defrost for each day.
Here are some of the products I found useful for this project:

I took a side view picture of Mayah the other day and it reminded me of my 20 week ultrasound picture. So, I thought I’d pull it out and compare, what do you think? (you have to use your imagination, it is reversed, and well, ultrasound pictures aren’t the best in the world, lol…. hint: look at her shadow for best comparison)

Same little nose? I think so, I think that little nose has gotten ever cuter though! She rarely puts her toes to her forehead anymore, although she does suck on them at times.
Ok, well, call me crazy, but that was a fun little memory of mine, and I thought I’d share it with you.

What a fun little photo shoot….I love everything about my little Mayah, she is so great.

If you have not ever shopped at diapers.com, now is the time! I was just on their website, which has been revamped from the last time I went on there. I believe they combined with the former BabyCenter store to make their store even bigger. They have great deals on diapers of all types, including my favorites (gDiapers!). They also have almost everything a baby needs, so the possibilities are endless!
Anyways, I found away to save you $10 on your order! Just enter my name (rhianna) as your referral code and you can get the savings! Plus, I’ll get an additional $1 in savings for each referral, so we both win!
I just thought I’d share, because $10 is a lot to get off of your first order. I hope you go check it out!

Don’t forget to use rhianna as your referral code!
This leads me to one other website I’d like to tell you about. I have made many friends on the different boards and have grown to love much about this website.
BabyCenter was first my way of learning more about Mayah growing when I was pregnant. It sent me an email each week telling me a little about the size and development of the baby. Then I decided to check out the community. I am a member of my birth club (August 2008) as well as a variety of other boards including gDiapers, Babywise, Blogaholics Anonymous, etc…. They also have Photo Clubs in which you can post pictures of your little one. I am a member of the August 2008 Cuties, BabyLegs!, and gDiapers Photo Clubs. I am not one to make tons of friends online, but really, I have things in common with these ladies and have enjoyed getting to know them as we journey into being a mom. What is great is that you can be a lurker on the boards and never say a word, yet still get to know people and learn about what others are going through that have babies in the same stages as your own. I always take advice given on there with a grain of salt and many times don’t even read what some people say, but overall it is a great site to at least check out.
If you decide to join the community, feel free to add me as a friend, my name is rhihug on there.

Enjoy checking out those websites!
