catching up
Well, it has been a busy and tiring few days for me so I haven’t been blogging… sorry for any of you who have wondered.
We had a faucet problem in the bathroom, so Kyle came home after work one day and started working on it. I was so thankful because it was getting so hard to turn the water off. He just decided to do it, even before I complained about it! Ha ha.. anyways, here is a picture of him working so hard on it… ![]()

Little Miss Mayah of course has been so sweet and adorable. We have been working hard on getting our routine down. I try to feed her at consistent times throughout the day so she isn’t just snacking, as well as put her down for naps at consistent times. I want her to know that life has routines and it is important for her to take naps and be well rested… the Babywise phrase is that “a well rested baby is a happy baby”… we’ll see if we can get Mayah to that point. I want her to be enjoyable when she is awake, although right now that has been hard. She has had some gas problems (or something of the sort) that cause her to fuss a bit and we are working through that. I’m praying God will give me wisdom to work through her problems so that she isn’t in pain from it anymore. I am loving my time with her regardless of fussiness and I always try to keep in mind that I need to enjoy every moment with her as she grows up, since time goes so quickly. I want her to enjoy that time too, even though she may not remember these early days. ![]()
So, while I always want her to be peaceful and sweet… much like this…

…there always seem to be times like this…

I keep in mind that much like the number of pictures… the fun times far outweigh the sad and hard times…
She is my little girl and I love her whether she is smiling or crying. ![]()
On Friday, Kyle decided to make something new for dinner. I later found he had taken a picture of it, so he must have thought it was blog-worthy… so here is a picture of his meal which included fettucine alfredo, garlic bread and sparkling cider…. (pardon the messy kitchen around it, it was a busy week)

We had a lot going on this weekend. We had a family funeral for a cousin of mine. It is always bittersweet to go to a funeral. Although it was nice to see family, it was hard to know the reason we had come together. When I go to funerals, I am always thankful that I have a hope. It is sad to see people mourning a loss and have no hope to turn to. I take it for granted that I have this amazing relationship with God, until I go and see people who don’t have the same thing. I pray that I live in such a way that I can tell people about the hope that I have, that they, too, can have. I know this is a random though inside my blog, but it came to me as I was thinking over what has gone on since I last blogged.
On Sunday, my family had a baby shower for Mayah and me. She dressed in a cute dress that was my mom’s and a sweater that was made for her by a friend. Unfortunately, before I got a good picture of her, she spit up ALL OVER the outfit… so, I will put her in it again and take a picture later.
I didn’t get any pictures at the shower, except for at the end, we had to put Daniel (my cousin’s baby who is 3 weeks older than Mayah) and Mayah by each other for a photo shoot. Here are the pictures of them together…

You may notice that Mayah decided his head was a good thing to lick… lol, who knows what she liked about it!
My mom got it on video on her camera… it was pretty funny… I’ll try to get the video on here. :)

You have to go look at my mom’s blog for all the pictures from the shower and the family stuff this weekend. She has some excellent pictures on there! Click here to go there.
Well, that’s it for now… I’m tired. I will post more updates again soon.
